"Packaging reminded me of past deliveries, okay, but could be better"
My Hornby order turned up on time, which was great, and I was excited because it reminded me of when my dad used to bring home models when I was younger. The only thing was the outer box had taken a knock on one corner, so I did have that little moment of worry before opening it.
Thankfully the model inside was absolutely fine, but I was surprised there wasn’t more padding around it. For something that isn’t exactly cheap, I expected it to be packed with a bit more care, especially knowing how easily these things can get damaged in transit.
Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience, just a slightly disappointing one on the packaging side. I’d still order from Hornby again, but I do hope they tighten up the packing a bit so it feels more secure when it arrives...

"Preorder went fine"
I preordered it and everything went smoothly. They kept me updated along the way, and there wasn’t any hassle with that whole thing...

I’ll give them credit where it’s due — the loyalty points did save me a bit of money. It’s not exactly life-changing, and I wouldn’t call the whole thing amazing, but at least the rewards are actually usable

Trying to find parts here felt like a tiny emotional rollercoaster. Some stuff was available, which was great, and then other parts were just nowhere to be found like they vanished off the planet. It’s definitely hit or miss.

The kit itself was good. No missing parts. Everything felt decent.
The instructions, though, were a bit rough. Tiny pictures. Some steps were unclear. I finished it, but it took longer than it should’ve

"Refund took forever and no one followed up"
I returned an item and the refund process was way slower than it should’ve been. I kept waiting for some kind of update, but there was basically no follow-up from their side. I had to reach out more than once just to find out what was going on, and the replies I got were vague. I did eventually get my money back, but the whole thing was frustrating and not a great experience...

The models are really nice, especially if you're into collecting, and I did find a few older ones that are hard to come by. That said, they’re a bit on the pricey side, and I got a little annoyed because some of the communication wasn’t very clear. I had to figure out a few details on my own, which took away from the experience a bit

The return was sorted really quickly, no hassle at all. And the refund came through faster than I expected, which was a nice surprise.

"Delivery was a bit hit and miss"
I ordered a couple of things from Hornby Hobbies and, to be fair, everything turned up in good condition. The packaging was decent and I’ve seen plenty of other people say the products themselves are usually reliable, which matched my experience too.
The only downside was the delivery. It took longer than I expected and the tracking barely updated, so I kept wondering if that’s normal or if I was just unlucky. I’d probably order again, but I’d check what others are saying about delivery first and wouldn’t rely on it if I needed something quickly

I’ll admit, I was a bit unsure at first, but after browsing around it really did feel like the genuine Hornby shop. Then I felt relieved because everything seemed legit, with none of that dodgy, suspicious stuff you sometimes worry about online.

I’m really happy with my order. Everything came as expected, looked great, and the whole process was easy. The extra packaging felt a little unnecessary, but overall I’m pleased with it.

My order showed up with almost everything exactly right, which made me feel like the system was watching me a little too closely. But then one accessory was wrong, so either it was a simple mix-up or someone in the warehouse is testing how much we’re paying attention. Not a huge deal, but still kind of weird.

"Service was fine, but the wait was frustrating"
I had to get in touch with Hornby Hobbies about a question on my order. To be fair, they did eventually reply and sorted it out, and the answer was useful once I finally got it. But the wait was longer than I’d hoped, which made the whole thing feel more annoying than it needed to. It wasn’t terrible, but I wouldn’t say I was impressed either.

"Had a missing part in my set..."
Had a missing part in my set, which was a bit frustrating at first. It took support a couple of days to get back to me, companies should be quicker about fixing mistakes like that. But once they replied, they handled it properly and didn’t give me any hassle. The replacement showed up fine, so I’m happy overall. Would’ve been 5 stars if the first response had been faster.

"Good prices, unless I missed something"
I ordered a few Hornby bits and, from what I could tell, the prices were better than most other places I looked. Maybe I’m just bad at comparing properly, but it genuinely felt like I wasn’t paying extra just because of the brand. Delivery was fine too, no issues there. I’d probably use them again

"Not great quality for the price"
I picked up a Hornby set and, i was disappointed. It looks nice at first, like really nice from a distance, but once I had it out of the box the train felt light and kind of cheap. One of the tiny parts was already loose too, which wasn’t a great start.
After running it a few times, it kept stopping on the track for no obvious reason. I tried it again and again, but the same thing kept happening. For the price, I really expected better. It’s okay to look at, but up close it just doesn’t feel very well made.
